PDF FACT SHEET (PDF download)

Why pursue the B.A. in Fine Arts: Art History?

As the birthplace of modern humanism, naturalistic arts and scientific inquiry, Florence was the cradle of Renaissance civilization, the place where Dante, Brunelleschi, Botticelli, and Leonardo da Vinci changed forever the way we see the world. Florence is the ideal destination for those interested in studying art history the degree program offers unparalleled access to museums, festivals, and artists in the richest art history environments in Europe. The B.A. in Fine Arts with a concentration in Art History is a four-year program designed to provide both a survey of western art and an in-depth study of selected periods. In addition to the required course work, students concentrating in art history must pursue an alternative discipline, preferably in a foreign language.
