Admissions

The following admissions information applies to the LdM Study Abroad Program. Certificate Program applicants click here to download a PDF of the Certificate Program application. Bachelors Degree Program applicants click here.

LDM has accepted admissions from thousands of US students over the last 30 years. We have a strong network of affiliates in the US (listed here) who facilitate credit transfers from LdM to US students' home institutions.

Please familiarize yourself with the following steps prior to submitting your application to LdM.

LdM North American Enrollment Services and Academic Relations processes applications on a rolling admissions basis. Students applying to LdM directly can be admitted upon the receipt and review of a complete application (including official transcript and letter of recommendation) on or before the admissions deadline.

Do not hesitate to contact LdM North America with any questions as you plan your study abroad program including: arranging transfer credit, choosing your LdM Program, applying for housing and making financial arrangements.

TRANSFER CREDIT

There are two ways in which you can apply to study at LdM and transfer your credits; by applying through one of our affiliates in the US or directly to LdM .

1. Applying through an Affiliate Institution

If you are currently enrolled in one of LdM's affiliate US institutions (listed here), you can apply directly through your school's study abroad program. Please discuss your study abroad plan (including courses) with your advisor.

2. Applying directly through LdM

LDM strongly advises all students to discuss their study abroad plan (including courses) with their academic advisor prior to enrolling. It is the students responsibility to ensure that credits will transfer in one of the following ways:

Your home institution will accept credit transfers directly:

You must obtain approval from your home institution prior to submitting the LdM application, on which your advisor's signature will be required. Please see p. 7 of the application.

Your home institution will not accept credit transfers directly:

Upon completion of your coursework at LdM, credits will be granted by Marist College, a US accredited institution and LDM partner. The transfer of the credits will be arranged by the LdM North America and Marist College.

Upon confirming the credit transfer procedure at your school, please follow the steps below.

LOCATION AND PROGRAMS

Choose a program/courses at one of 3 sites in Florence, Rome or Tuscania.

HOUSING

Submit the housing request form and housing deposit to LdM along with your application.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS

Make financial arrangements for your study abroad program. Please make sure you meet with your financial aid office as soon as possible to discuss financial aid or scholarship opportunities.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact the LdM North American Enrollment Services + Academic Relations Office for assistance in the event of any queries regarding your application. We are happy to help and look forward to hearing from you.
