Admissions

The following admissions information applies to the LdM Study Abroad Program. Certificate Program applicants click here to download a PDF of the Certificate Program application. Marist/LdM Bachelor's Degree Program applicants click here. Marist/LdM Graduate Degree Program applicants click here.

Please familiarize yourself with the following steps prior to submitting your study abroad application to LdM. Do not hesitate to contact LdM Student Services + Academic Relations with any questions as you plan your study abroad program including: arranging transfer credit, choosing your LdM Program, applying for housing and making financial arrangements.

LdM Student Services + Academic Relations processes applications on a rolling admissions basis. Students applying to LdM directly can be admitted upon the receipt and review of a complete application (including official transcript and letter of recommendation) on or before the admissions deadline.

TRANSFER CREDIT

There are two ways in which you can apply to study abroad at LdM and transfer your credits; by applying through one of our affiliates or by applying directly to LdM. If you enroll directly through LdM Student Services + Academic Relations, you have the option to receive either the Lorenzo de' Medici transcript or the Marist College US transcript for coursework/transfer of credit. Students seeking transfer of credit must confirm the transcript requirement with their home institution according to the guidelines stated in the LdM Transcript Request Form. Students may not change the transcript type once classes have begun. Furthermore, Marist College cannot issue a transcript retroactively for a student who originally requested the LdM transcript for his/her studies.

Please visit your school's study abroad office to determine the preferred method of enrollment.

1. Applying through an Affiliate Institution

If you are currently enrolled in one of LdM's affiliate institutions, you can apply directly through your school's study abroad office. Similarly, if your school has a special relationship with one of our affiliates, your school may direct you to enroll through one of our affiliates. Please visit your school's study abroad office to determine whether you should apply through an LdM affiliate in order to transfer credits back to your home institution.

In addition, LdM strongly advises all students to discuss their study abroad plan (including courses) with their academic advisor prior to enrolling. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that credits will transfer back to their home institution.

2. Applying directly through LdM Student Services + Academic Relations

If it is determined that you should enroll directly through the LdM Student Services + Academic Relations, LdM strongly advises you to discuss your study abroad plan (including courses) with your academic advisor prior to enrolling. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that credits will transfer in one of the following ways:

  • Home institution accepts the Lorenzo de' Medici transcript.

The LdM transcript in English documents the LdM course codes and titles, the number of credits per course, and grades earned. Students must confirm the transcript preference of their home institution during the approval process and prior to submitting the LdM application. The advisor's signature is required on the application.

Upon completion of coursework, an official LdM transcript will be mailed to the student's designated recipient.

    OR

  • Home institution requires the Marist College US transcript.

Marist College, US accredited institution and LdM partner, will issue the transcript for LdM coursework in terms of the Marist course equivalents. Be sure to provide your advisor with the Marist course codes and titles for your LdM course selections. See the LdM Course Schedules for Marist equivalencies corresponding to the LdM codes and titles.

Upon completion of coursework, an official Marist College transcript will be mailed to the student's designated recipient.

Upon confirming the credit transfer procedure at your school, please follow the steps below.

LOCATION AND PROGRAMS

Choose a study abroad program and courses at one of 4 sites in Florence, Rome, Tuscania, or Venice.

HOUSING

Students should indicate on their application that they are interested in securing housing through LdM. Housing information will be provided upon acceptance to Lorenzo de' Medici.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS

Make financial arrangements for your program. Please make sure you meet with your financial aid office as soon as possible to discuss financial aid or scholarship opportunities.

Again, please do not hesitate to contact LdM Student Services + Academic Relations for assistance in the event of any queries regarding your application. We are happy to help and look forward to hearing from you.
