About LdMLorenzo de' Medici – The Italian International InstituteWith almost 40 years of growth and experience, Istituto Lorenzo de' Medici (LdM) is one of Italy's most distinctive and well-established study abroad institutions. LdM is renowned for its many years of offering academic and professionally-oriented courses designed to complement a variety of majors as well as to enrich students' knowledge, experience, and skills. Students can choose from over 400 different courses in 32 subject areas taught at LdM's four campuses in Florence, Rome, Tuscania and Venice. Courses fall under four main academic divisions: Arts and Sciences, Creative Arts, Design, and Italian Language and Culture. Based on the longevity and success of our Florence campus, three new campuses were opened in Rome, Tuscania, and Venice. This expansion provides the opportunity for students to study abroad in multiple locations and truly experience different aspects of Italy. The different campuses augment already-expansive offerings and appeal to students of many different backgrounds, interests, experiences, and motivations. We provide students attending LdM with many opportunities to experience the Italy "city beyond the postcard." Our Cultural Coordinators organize clubs and excursions so students with the same interests can meet and interact within the student community, and with the people of Florence, Rome, Tuscania, and Venice. LdM attracts students from all over the world. We have a large and diverse student body. At the same time, LdM emphasizes the personal development of each student. We aim to integrate formal university-level learning with an emphasis on personal growth, individual engagement, and community responsibility.
